Will Wright designs computer games. In 1987 he cofounded the game development company Maxis, which launched SimCity, a game inspired by theories of human psychology and architecture and heralded as one of the most influential in history. Now, to fulfill his vision for an experience that unites science and creativity, Wright has designed Spore, the life simulation game. Inventor, tinkerer, and entrepreneur, Wright was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame in 2002, and in 2005 was awarded PC Magazine's Lifetime Achievement Award.
