Robert Trivers is an evolutionary biologist. In the early 1970s he wrote a series of landmark papers that provided a Darwinian basis for understanding complex human activities and relationships. Named one of the 100 greatest thinkers and scientists of the 20th century by Time magazine, Trivers' theories have inspired a vast amount of research and commentary in psychology and biology. His most recent book, Genes in Conflict (with Austin Burt) presents the first comprehensive review of selfish genetic elements in all species. He currently teaches at Rutgers University.
