Will Self is a writer and satirist who has authored novels, short stories, essays, and newspaper columns. In the recently published book Psychogeography, a collection of his columns for The Independent, Self charts his walks through urban and rural areas, addressing the relationship between place and inner state. Self's published work includes the novel Great Apes, which takes place in a world in which chimpanzees are self-aware, and the short story collection Tough, Tough Toys for Tough, Tough Boys, for which he won the Paris Review's Aga Khan Prize for Fiction.
