Stephen Schneider is a professor, and co-director of the Center for Environmental Science and Policy, at Stanford University. He received his Ph.D. from Columbia University and studied as a postdoctoral fellow at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Schneider has served under six presidential administrations, including the current one, as either a federal consultant or a member of the White House staff. He is the author and editor of numerous books, and received a MacArthur Fellowship for his efforts to increase public understanding of climate research.
