Errol Morris is a documentary filmmaker. Over the past 25 years he has made eight films, including Gates of Heaven, which Roger Ebert called “one of the ten best films of all time,” and the Oscar-winning The Fog of War. In 1999 the Sundance Film Festival paid special tribute to Morris, and the Museum of Modern Art mounted a full retrospective of his work. His new film, Standard Operating Procedure, is about the abuse scandal at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Morris and Philip Gourevitch co-wrote a companion book of the same name.
