Janna Levin is a theoretical cosmologist and a writer. Her research involves the origin of the universe, the shape of space-time, chaos, and black holes. She is the author of two books, most recently the novel A Madman Dreams of Turing Machines. Levin has worked at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Cambridge, and served as a scientist-in-residence at the Ruskin School of Fine Art and Drawing in Oxford. She is currently a professor at Barnard College.
