Peter Galison, the Pellegrino University Professor in History of Political Science and Physics at Harvard, focuses on questions such as: What, at any given time, convinces people that an experiment is true? The recipient of a MacArthur "genius" award and the Max Planck Prize, Galison has launched several projects examining cross-currents between science and other fields, including two documentaries: The Ultimate Weapon: The H-Bomb Dilemma and Secrecy, about the costs and benefits of government privacy, which debuted at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.
